![]() ![]() Like many others who are here looking for an answer, I first started asking “wtf is up with the mouse movement” with regards to gaming, in particular Starcraft 2. I’ve also used Wacom tablets on Windows workstations as well, and they feel identical on both (thats the whole reason Wacom is the leader in tablets). If there existed lag on the software side of Mac OSX that affects mouse precision, then how does a Wacom tablet manage perfect 1 to 1 movement (which, for anybody who hasn’t used a Wacom on a Mac, it IS one to one, and Wacom itself frequently shows off its products using Macs). Ok, not sure why this hasn’t been brought up, but seem to be a few flaws in the blog’s argument about lag, namely:ġ) Wacom Intuos Tablets. WRT to switching to linux or windows – it’s possible the defaults for that OS have the mouse acceleration set faster than (IMHO) the slow mac default speed. Maybe you’re using a bluetooth mouse which is adding additional transmission lag, or you’re not accounting for the acceleration algorithm used for mouse movement. We’re able to perceive changes at very fast speeds (say, 200fps) but at that rates we’re only able to see extremely high contrast changes in images.Īt 32mS you’re talking around 3 frames of video, so that should basically be imperceptible. If my assumption is correct, of course.įirst off, where did your timings come from? How did you calculate this delta and land on the 32mS number?Īs someone who spends an incredible amount of time dealing with audio and video work (on macs, primarily), I have to say that while you may have discovered an apparent ‘lag’ in the mouse motion, going as far as to say that it renders the system useless for “design and gaming” is pretty specious to say the least.Īround 7-10mS is the threshold for people identifying differences in audio. Note: if you have access to a display with a faster refresh rate than 60Hz, you will notice less mouse lag if you use that display. If this is true, selecting text (like the observation above) will result in the selection lagging after the mouse cursor. With active sprites, the GPU draws them on top of the displayed frame without having to manually draw them into the back buffer. Regarding Windows: I suspect Windows uses a different, ancient technique to draw the mouse cursor: sprites. All games and design apps use double buffering (or in some cases, triple buffering), otherwise incomplete frames would be shown. Your statement “Yes, Mac OS X is less suited for gaming and design.” is false. ![]() The mouse itself does not lag, but merely the graphical representation of it.Ģ. If the assumption is correct, this leads to the following conclusions:ġ. After the next vsync, the back buffer is drawn. A new frame is drawn onto the back buffer, with the new mouse position. You move the mouse just after this is done. Here’s what I think is happening in the worst case:ġ. I’m assuming Mac OS X uses double buffering for graphics. Observation: when I quickly select text using the mouse, there is no lag between the mouse cursor and the selection of text.

Treatment: Antibiotics are prescribed in case of an infection causing petechiae formation and appearance. They are more common in newborns and become prominent after violent vomiting. Drugs such as aspiring, heparin, or cortisone may also cause petechiae. Certain medical treatments such as chemotherapy and radiation, as well as leukemia, idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura, and other bone marrow malignancies can also cause petechiae to appear. The most common causes include allergic reaction, local injury, autoimmune diseases, trauma, and viral infections that impair clotting. And they may appear on your eyelids or on the inner surface of your mouth.Ĭauses: While petechiae are quite common, they may indicate different conditions. The color remains the same even when you press on them. They look more like a rash and appear in clusters. These growths develop as a result of bleeding, and this is the reason why they may look brown, red, or purple. If you notice pinpoint, round, tiny red dots on skin, they could be petechiae. You do not usually need to worry about these skin growths unless you notice a change in their shape, size, or color. They are more likely to appear in pregnancy and are even linked to climate and exposure to chemicals. Some people are more likely to get them compared to others. While the exact cause of these skin growths is not clear, many experts believe it has something to do with genetics. They look red because of broken blood vessels inside them. Also known as senile angiomas, they usually affect people over 30 years of age. "Red Mole" or Cherry AngiomasĬherry angiomas are quite common and can appear on any area of your body. What Are the Possible Causes of Tiny Red Dots on Skin? 1. It is, however, important to understand when you should go see your doctor and seek medical treatment. Some of these underlying causes may be quite serious, while others may not raise any concern. You may develop tiny red spots on your skin for many different reasons. Using browser extensions for Chrome and Firefox is probably the easiest and cleanest method to copy/paste plain text online. On editors like WordPress, the extensions also add a ‘Paste PlainText’ option. They both work pretty much the same way, by adding a ‘Copy PlainText’ or ‘Copy as Plain Text’ option, to the browser’s right-click context menu. The one I use on Firefox is Copy PlainText ( Free), while the best one on Chrome is Copy as Plain Text ( Free). There are multiple extensions for Firefox and Chrome that remove all formatting from the selected text before copy/pasting. The third option pastes the plain text into Word, stripped of all the formatting. While the first one keeps the original formatting, the second one only keeps the basic formatting, like bold letters and bullet points, but changes the font to match your document. You get three options: ‘Keep Source Formatting,’ ‘Merge Formatting,’ and ‘Keep Text Only,’ as shown below. Once you’ve copied the target text with formatting, hit the Paste button on the MS Word ribbon. You can paste text without formatting into MS Word using a special ‘Paste’ option on the ribbon.
